The rural setting of Sulzemoos played a significant role in our concept development. The prevailing traditional styles of the region, gabled roofs, plaster facades farms and agricultural buildings in wood construction, led us to a conceptual interpretation of a typology that enters into a dialectic relationship with its surroundings while still retaining a visual significance from the nearby Autobahn. The new office buildings provide exceptional spatial qualities and a wide array of different atmospheres conducive for communicative interactions as well as concentrated recess and pleasant work environments. The courtyards of the new campus ensemble provide a protection against weather and noise emission space pus. Through a coherent arrangement of the buildings to each other and within the greater context, the new volumes formulate a clear ensemble, which surrounds a central campus space and produces urban qualities. The Campus Ensemble is designed so that it meets the plus-energy standard, it is completely operated through PV panels.
