Our design for a penthouse roof addition exploits the possibilities of the prevalent zoning code at the site in the center of Duesseldorf. The facade of the existing building follows the ingenious interior design by Uli Nether that covers all existing surfaces with a milky coat like a layer of ice, while the penthouse itself retains certain independence towards the “icy” base.
